Cyana Maria Leahy-Dios holds a graduate degree in Lettres (1973) and a Master of Education (1989) from Universidade Federal Fluminense, and a PhD in Literature Education (1996) from University of London Institute of Education. She was an associate professor at Universidade Federal Fluminense from 1991 to 2004. Her teaching, writing and research experience covers various fields of Education, including literature teaching and learning, social and cultural studies, autobiographical narratives, and reading. She has published widely on those topics: 22 articles in specialized journals, 9 texts in conference annals, 13 book chapters, 11 books, 60 technical items, 9 articles and reviews in Brazilian and American journals.
She contributes often to review journals and magazines in Brazil and abroad.
As a Portuguese – English – Portuguese translator, she has worked intensely, with books, articles and book chapters published in Brazil and abroad, mainly for Fraiha, Casa da Palavra, Companhia das Letras and Bertrand Brasil publishers. (www.cyanaleahy.com)
